My personal site has gone through many designs through the years, this is the most recent version. This also serves as my test bed for new ideas, techniques, designs, etc... Most recently I spent time learning how best to target mobile visitors with Wordpress.

Blizzforums

Blizzforums is a vBulletin powered community that’s been around for around a decade. I first redesigned it by rebuilding certain graphics in Photoshop and then creating a new style. The second full (and current) design occurred because of the vBulletin 4.0 update which made older styles incompatible.

Starcraft.org

Starcraft.org has been around since '98, but has suffered downtime in recent years. In October of 2011 I was contacted to help get something up in time to cover an event (generously given two days!), doing my best I had the site back up w/Wordpress. Since then I have completely redesigned Starcraft.org and slowly begun implementing former features.

Starcraft.org Forums

Starcraft.org used a customized custom style for vBulletin, but it clashed horribly with the site's theme and was almost universally disliked by the user base. I implemented a temporary style that better matches, with plans to implement a true full design in the future.

StClairCrystals

Working with an international team, my job was to take the orignal design concept in PSD format and turn it into a fully functional ecommerce site with several pages including media updates. The main focus of this site is Michael St.Clair's crystal artwork, but he is also well known for being a futurist, visionary and personal consultant, as well as a gifted astrologer. In addition, I created a separate "members-only" website utilizing the same graphics and a new design layout.

Business Redesign

This project was to redesign a small business website. Previously using flat html, this redesign and update allows the owner to update and maintain their website quickly and easily with Wordpress.

The client has not yet deployed this website publicly, but I completed my work to the client's satisfaction.

Uglysbooks

I was commissioned to help fix, and update certain areas of this website including the menu and header areas. This site utilizes an ecommerce script I am unfamiliar with, however I was able to learn my way around enough to implement the requested updates.

Utilizing the default theme for Wordpress and incorporating certain header elements I helped deploy a blog as well.

Humboldt House of Horrors

This was a website I whipped together on a very small budget and a tight deadline, as such it doesn’t have many bells and whistles, but the client was thrilled with the design, and Halloween was always a favorite holiday of mine growing up so I had fun putting it together!

From September 2009 up until now, 2012, and ongoing, Nick Siler has been our web site manager and coder for stclaircrystals.com -- and he came up with innovative solutions to make our site easy to navigate and to find.

He also updates the site continuously and has always worked with us in a very timely manner. While the initial project was very time consuming and complex, the latter phases were mainly updates and new additions.

Then, in Spring 2010, Nick designed a "members only" subscription web site (The Radiant Zones Network) - parked on the main site - on which I write astrological and economy updates on the world situation, with technical advisories for my clients. This site is updated every day almost.

Our sites took off immediately in 2009 and 2010, and were very well received world wide. Sales of my crystal resonators did extremely well. We highly recommend anyone who wants to start or redo a web presence to work with Nick who has been and still is a great asset in our international team.

The stclaircrystals site was initially designed as a concept by Johnny Mellgren in Sweden. Important to know, Nick always comes up with new tech solutions when we do not always know how to present something. Also he has as our trouble shooter always been responding very fast when we had some glitches. He is there to help anyone who needs assistance.

Very best wishes to Nick Siler and to any one who works with him!

Nick took my design ideas and adapted them to the WordPress framework with ease. As an interaction designer, it is always great fun to work with developers that create solutions to design problems, enhancing the original idea into something better than originally planned for.

Several years ago I contacted Nick about designing a web site for me. He was up to the task and did a beautiful job. I am an artist and Nick worked out great displays of my miniature artworks. Plus, when I have needed updates, he has quickly stepped up and gotten the work done.

Nick is a web design artist of the highest caliber. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for great work at a good price.

About Me

I am passionate about website design, and I keep up with the latest news, trends, and techniques... but more importantly, I know when to use them. I have created dozens of websites over the years from simple brochure-like business websites to more complex ecommerce websites.

I have skills in all major website design techniques, including HTML/5, CSS/3, and Photoshop. My focus is on usable, accessible and standard compliant designs. My specialty is front-end web development, including many years of experience with customized themes and designs in both vBulletin and Wordpress.

On a final note, I have maintained two vBulletin-based communities, each with custom designs, as well as various websites powered by Wordpress for many years.
